For those who miss our culinary blog
Result of my experiments with marshmallows
Do you know what's the most I like about writing a culinary blog? It makes me try new things. In particular baking and desserts. I don't make desserts too often for an obvious reason – good recipes take a lot of time that I never have. But now I really have to push myself to find quick recipes for my blog. And I can't imagine a culinary blog without desserts, especially on Christmas Eve.
This week I've experimented with marshmallows. I really like melted marshmallows, but for me marshmallows with chocolate seem too sweet. So I tried to mix them with real, not sweetened cocoa powder and cream. The result was even better than I expected – a wonderful semi-sweet and delicate marshmallow mousse that can be prepared in a few minutes!
MARSHMALLOW MOUSSE
Preparation: 15 min; Cooking: 10 min; Servings: 4
You'll need:
- large marshmallows - 12
- cocoa powder – 1 tsp
- hot water – ½ cup
- heavy cream (35%) – 250ml
In a pan mix hot water and cocoa powder with a spoon to remove all the lumps. Put the pan on the low heat, add marshmallows and melt them completely. Set it aside to cool down a bit.
Whip the cream with an electric mixer. Very slowly add the marshmallow mixture, works best one tbsp. at a time. Mix well. Pour into 4 small serving bawls and cool down in the fridge for about an hour. Serve cold.
